Job description
The accountant provides an extensive range of accounting services to our Multifamily Department, which includes, reconciliations, month-end closing and financial processing for accrual-based reporting, posting of journal entries, and internal auditing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide financial reporting to third party Owners.
  • Assist Regional Manager with Owner financial questions.
  • Prepare billing of Grants for reimbursements.
  • Prepare and submit Grant budgets.
  • Monitor cash flow of the HUD properties and process reserve replacement requests.
  • Reconcile paid management fees
  • Process Owner specific reporting.
  • Process HUD and Tax Credit specific reporting.
  • Reconcile and post monthly accrual entries.
  • Monitor and update recurring invoices.
  • Update annual personal property listings.
  • Tracking of development funds.
  • Process fiscal yearend reports and schedules with supporting documents to Auditors.
  • Provide requested documents to auditors.
  • Review Auditors annual reports for accuracy.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

ATTENDANCE
Position requires ability to work from the corporate office in Spokane, 5 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. It is critical that individuals possess the ability to work their scheduled hours plus any other hours necessary to complete the job and must attend training classes as scheduled. Work schedules and location assignments are subject to change. Ensure compliance with time management policies including meal and rest periods.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum of two years’ experience.
  • Proficient in various office technologies and software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and property management software.
  • Excellent customer service and inter-personal skills including problem solving, critical thinking skills and ability to respond quickly and professionally.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and can prioritize various tasks, producing required results.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, organized, good at multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and follow-up.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged sitting/standing at workstation.
  • Will use some repetitive motion of hands/wrists using a computer.
  • Requires light lifting, reaching, and bending.

  • Sick Pay- 0.038462 hours of sick per hour worked (on average 10 days per year). Up to 80 hours carryover each year.
