Job description
Financial Services seeks an Accountant Associate to perform accounting, banking and customer service functions requiring initiative and independent judgement in support of the goals and objectives of Financial Services. This position is part of the ASU Payables and Reimbursements department.
The successful candidate will be paid a signing bonus of $750 and a $1,250 bonus after completing six months of employment with the department.

Essential Duties
- Perform specialized Accounts Payable processes including, but not limited to wire payments, check cancelations and reissues, check deposits.
- Obtain, analyze and verify bank information for wire payments.
- Audit and approve invoices to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Respond to inquiries via email and phone in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare recurring reports.
- Provide customer service duties to aide departments and suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; OR, Four (4) years professional accounting experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Accounts Payable, specifically wire payments.
- Experience in using ASU's financial management system, Workday.
- Evidence of effective communications skills.
- Experience in performing detailed numerical computations.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience in preparing detailed reports.
Working Environment
- Work in an office setting and use office equipment (i.e. computers, printers, copiers, calculators, telephones)
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Communication skills.
- Read-interpret written and oral instructions/directions.
- May require lifting of items weighing up to 25 pounds.
