Now that I was able to make you laugh, Northampton County has an Accountant II position available for a dedicated professional who is not afraid of taking on new challenges performing financial risk management.
This position performs financial risk assessments and on-site reviews for Northampton County's Department of Human Services in order to reduce the risk or fraud, waste and abuse. This position will require extensive travel and some of the travel may require overnight stays. Employee is expected to be technically skilled in accounting, budgeting, and contract management. Initiative and independent judgment are exercised within the framework of federal, state, and county fiscal policies and regulations. In addition to performing the tasks associated with risk assessment, this position will assist the AAA accountant with state fiscal reporting, financial statements and budgets.

Northampton County offers competitive salary and benefits.- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

The County of Northampton will follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines with regard to booster(s) and when individuals are considered fully vaccinated.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Accountant I; or
- Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
