Job Summary:

PIC Group has an excellent opportunity for an Account Manager that is highly compensated through a solid base salary, profit sharing, and quarterly bonuses with potential for additional career growth. The Account Manager is focused on developing key accounts within the industrial sector for integration of power system equipment applications and will be based out New Orleans, LA. The Account Manager will report to the President of the Company and play a vital role for advancing core power system product lines such as voltage regulators, power and instrument transformers, and switch gears to key industrial accounts. Our client is a proven project solutions company for power systems integration in an industrial application setting. The position has the potential of working from home and/or remotely within the Gulf Coast region once established at the Company.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all sales/growth goals are met or exceeded for both commission targets and integrated quotas
  • Lead contributor for Channel Partners which is an established approved vendor Program working closely with manufacturers for expansion of new product lines through negotiations and creating new partnerships for power equipment sales to clients
  • Create and implement a successful plan for assigned territory/accounts
  • Implement strategies to secure appropriate and successful meetings with all necessary stakeholders utilizing appropriate team members to influence decisions in our complex sales continuum
  • Ability to ask the right questions to uncover business opportunities and competitors’ weaknesses
  • Analyze current business trends with a goal of optimizing sales and strategic alignment, keeping in mind strengthening the brand and market offerings
  • Forecast opportunities and market dynamics
  • Analyze and communicate successfully with our Quotations Team to modify RFQ responses as needed to secure business

Job Requirements:

  • Directed by Senior Leadership and setting performance goals as they relate to the company’s strategic objectives
  • Ability to ask the right questions to uncover business opportunities and competitors’ weaknesses
  • Analyze and communicate market influencers and competitors that challenge our sales opportunities
  • Develop competency to articulate and having a clear grasp of and ability to articulate our unique value-added brand
  • Gainfully review opportunities, and professionally pursue strategic alliances with partner clients and vendors
  • Establish accurate record-keeping concerning sales activity and targets
  • Ensure that the Channel Partner Program department works cross functionally with representatives from other departments for enhanced lead generation and to expand the target customer base. For example, collaborating with Project Management to make sure customer needs are met
  • Build the pipeline with the timely identification and communication of cross-selling opportunities for project-related business development within commission business.
  • Must be available for regular travel, at times extended, with an ability to perform “ride-along” to support other sales staff as needed, and to build relationships with customers at a senior level
  • Travel by air or car as needed for client visits
  • While at client site, may be required to use PPE

Physical Requirements:

  • Working at computer and sitting or standing for most of workday

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required – preferably an engineering degree
  • Master’s degree or degree in business administration is preferred
  • Requires 5+ years of demonstrated results in selling “solutions” or power equipment (ie – VFDs, Switchgear, Generators) to customers in an industrial setting, with recent proven account management success
  • Experience with equipment providers such as Eaton, Schneider Electric, Cummings, ABB, Siemens, or similar companies is preferred
