ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position may include:

  • Water and/or wastewater treatment and remediation;
  • Developing and evaluating the results of laboratory treatability and pilot studies;
  • Process engineering design support;
  • Fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, contractor oversight, construction quality assurance and oversight, and remediation system O&M;
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Data review, analysis, including preparing maps, tables, figures; and
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, and proposals.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 50%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 10%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering or related field. (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, if applicable. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of related experience, including designing, conducting, and evaluating the results of laboratory studies, or/an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Prior professional experience and/or research experience in water/wastewater treatment process technologies and/or environmental compliance/permitting associated with water/wastewater. (preferred)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (valuable)
  • Valid U.S. driver s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
