San Luis Valley Health is seeking a 340B Oversight Administrator to serve as the primary internal and external program coordinator and liaison for all 340B related matters for San Luis Valley Health. This position will serve as the institutional compliance authority on 340B regarding program details, policies, and procedures of the virtual inventory processes required for mixed-use areas. Serving as the primary internal liaison to keys stakeholders, the Oversight Administrator will help ensure appropriate utilization of the 340B program and compliance program requirements. This position will work in collaboration with the Pharmacy Purchasing Agent and cross-train to back fill that position as needed.


Qualified candidate will possess the following education and skills:

  • Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician with at least two years' experience as a pharmacy technician.
  • Must complete all competency and skills assessments required.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and independently with close attention to detail.
  • Strong self-learning and organizational skills required.
  • Must have highly developed interpersonal skills and positive attitude to successfully work as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, adapt to changing workload conditions, manage through frequent interruptions and follow through on tasks within a specified time.
  • Ability and willingness to help others when needed, adjust schedule and assume new responsibilities.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills and excellent telephone skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to effectively perform work with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Developing a 340B knowledge base using HRSA approved resources (i.e. 340B modules through Apexus).
  • Provide oversight for the 340B program, purchasing, receiving and inventory control to maintain compliance with 340B Program.
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external relationships (wholesalers, manufacturers, contract pharmacies, split-billing software vendors, employee benefit pharmacy managers, and third-party administrators (TPA) vendors as required.
  • Actively engaging with senior leadership and other members of the 340B Oversight Committee, preparing agendas and facilitating 340B meetings.
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are developed and implemented according to organizational and federal requirements relative to 340B and purchasing.
  • Ensuring organization has a compliance audit program, routinely performing internal audits.
  • Working with vendor to ensure organization performs the recommended annual external audits: develops action plan to ensure deficiencies are addressed in a timely fashion.
  • Regularly communicating with all staff involved with the 340B program to be sure that processes remain efficient and to address any problems or suggestions for improvement. Establishes a clear way for staff to communicate concerns with coordinator.
  • Providing regular education to staff on policies and procedures related to 340B compliance where appropriate.
  • Monitoring and assesses 340B guidance and or rule changes. Attends regular 340B trainings and shares topics with those in need of information.
  • Ensuring that the 340B pharmacy program is continuously compliant with 340B federal regulations.
  • Maintaining knowledge of policy changes that affect the 340B program, including, but not limited to, HRSA/OPA rules and Medicaid changes.
  • Collaborating with the Prime Vendor Program, pharmacy leadership, and other 340B institutions to determine the most appropriate use of 340B resources.
  • Developing knowledge and maintains awareness of current regulations, trends, and issues pertaining to the 340B program.
  • Ensuring that the annual HRSA recertification is completed within the allowable time frame.
  • Ensuring that the HRSA 340B Database is accurate.
