The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations increase capacity and sustainability for programs focused on alleviating poverty, while developing new leadership to help strengthen Wisconsin’s communities and move them “forward.” With passion, commitment, and hard work, our VISTAs help affiliates bring individuals & communities out of poverty.

Member Duties : The goal of this VISTA is to develop resources to help HFH Wausau respond to the ongoing needs of the community and increase the number of clients serviced. They will improve operating procedures for fundraising and volunteer management, transition the thrift store to a branded ReStore, and create new marketing materials. Objectives include: 1) Improve tracking and management of donors and volunteers importing data into a new database and develop related processes and procedures to ensure consistent use and ongoing maintenance of the database. 2) Improve communication and expand community reach by developing a marketing and outreach plan and creating marketing materials for print and social media. 3) With the store manager, revamp the merchandising of the store, develop procedures and coordinate donation drop offs/pickups, develop marketing materials to grow inkind donation giving to the store, and develop in-store marketing to share the impact of shopping with customers.
