The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for 2 Senior Travel Specialist positions within the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program which provides support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in one of the following areas: Research Triangle Park, NC/Washington, DC/Cincinnati, OH/Athens, GA/Gulf Breeze, FL/Corvallis, OR/Newport, OR/Narragansett, RI/Ada, OK/Duluth, MN. Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check.

Role and Responsibilities: Selected individual will provide support to the Office of Research and Development (ORD) Travel Services Branch, providing Domestic Travel Services to U.S. EPA's ORD Staff.

Duties include:

  • Independently manage multiple requests for domestic travel to determine the most efficient, economical means of travel, handles urgent requests, and solves complicated reservations, travel authorizations and voucher issues by interpreting and enforcing travel regulations and policies.
  • Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a full range of travel and transportation services for domestic and international travel in a timely manner. Develop and manage all complex domestic travel plans for managers and employees.
  • Confirm that all travel aspects associated with Trip Requests include approvals, requests, funds, and vouchers are executed in the agency’s travel managements system in a timely manner and adhere to Agency & US Government (USG) Trip Requests.
  • Responsible for implementation and oversight of the Travel Standard Operating Procedures as needed by monitoring, improving, and updating the information so that it remains a valuable resource for government travelers. Provide expert travel advice and troubleshoots complex travel issues by responding to emails, telephone calls and verbal queries related to travel policy and procedures using superior inter-personal skills.
  • Develops and manage all international and complex domestic travel plans for managers and employees.
  • Works closely with the Office of International Affairs on international travel ensuring that VISAs and clearances have been obtained and handle currency conversion, dealing effectively with last minute itinerary changes for international travel.

Qualifications and Education Requirements: BA/BS Business Administration or related field; 5-10 years’ experience in a travel office environment or similar role; federal travel & international experience preferred. Organization skills oral and written communication skills, experience with MS Office Suite (Teams/Outlook) or similar package a plus. Individual must be self-motivated, detailed oriented, able to work independently and well with others, manage multiple demands, and write succinctly.

Hours & Compensation: Full-time position working 40 hours per week @ $18.01 per hour, plus benefits including vacation, sick and holidays
