Job Description

Responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect

  • Review open receivables to ensure accurate recording of invoices and cash application.
  • Communicate with external customers, as needed, to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Coordinate and reconcile all month-end activity related to Accounts Receivable to facilitate closing of subledger and interface to general ledger.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports detailing Accounts Receivable metrics to Land Systems and Corporate staff.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
  • Perform contract reconciliations and analysis to support resolution of complex aged receivable issues.
  • Develop queries for reporting and analysis using IBM Cognos and/or Oracle Data Warehouse utilities.
  • Assist on special projects related to billing, accounts receivable, and cash functions.
  • Support required internal and external audits, as necessary.
  • Identify areas where process improvements can be implemented to increase efficiency.
  • Maintain SOX and SOD controls over various aspects of banking and Accounts Receivable functions.

Minimum Qualifications/What you must have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience.
  • Understanding of Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Requirements.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with computer applications/ financial systems (ORACLE).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Data Warehouse, Cognos, OBIEE.
  • Ability to identify and maintain internal controls in multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Ability to communicate across functions with company stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to be flexible and meet deadlines.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of MOCAS, DFAS operations helpful.
