PURPOSE:

The Yard Lead will assist the Yard Manager with the day-to-day execution of the yard and receiving teams. This person will work to better the team through training, coaching, and positive reinforcement while always keeping a team-first attitude.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for planning, delegating, and strategy of workload by coordination of day-to-day tasks.
• Motivate, coach, and train forklift operators.
• Maintain optimal customer service levels in the yard, and troubleshoot differences as warranted.
• Assists Yard Manager with inventory controls and maintenance.
• Ensure all Operational Sales, Credits and Transfers are executed according to SOP.
• Responsible for effectively completing tasks in a timely manner.
• Acts as secondary support for Receiving, Loading Building, and loading trucks.
• Responsible for general housekeeping to ensure our warehouse/yard standards are met safely and professionally in the yard.
• Maintain optimal customer service in the yard.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:

• Train and ensure team members follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure the am completes forklift pre-trip inspections daily.

All other duties Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Lift 80 lbs. above head.
• Stand, sit, bend, kneel, and do the repetitive lifting for 8 hrs.
• Climb stairs while carrying heavy objects.
• Works in inclement weather conditions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School or GED.
• Forklift Certified.
• Knowledge of Bistrack and WMS preferred.
• 1+ years of experience as a Forklift Operator.
• Prior exposure to receiving, staging, and loading.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
