Job description

The Yard Equipment Operator is needed to operate equipment/machinery and duties involving physical labor on heavy precast projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

· Operate and drive yard mixer, yard equipment including fork lift trucks.

· Performing manual work in preparing surfaces.

· Maintain a clean job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.

· Material handling and storage, including cutting pieces.

· Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials using various hand and powered lifting machines.

Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy precast projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces.

· Place cables and steel into precast forms.

· Place concrete into precast forms.

· Leveling the top of the concrete using a flat tool and straightedge.

· Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.

· Material handling and storage, including cutting pieces.

· Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials using various hand and powered lifting machines.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Experience with forklift operations, yard tractors and/or concrete self-propelled saws preferred. (no CDL Required)
• Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor.
• Ability to communicate orally.
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
