A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WORK READINESS INSTRUCTOR - EMPLOYMENT TRAINER

As a Work Readiness Instructor - Employment Trainer at our human services nonprofit, you play a crucial role in empowering our program participants to secure meaningful employment! With your dedication and teaching expertise, you deliver engaging training sessions and professional development activities that prepare our participants for success. You take the time to establish strong relationships with our participants, fostering an environment of trust and support. Through your dynamic approach to life skills, wellness, and employer-based training, you equip our participants with the tools they need to thrive in the workplace. And, you don't stop there! You also provide monthly professional development opportunities for our staff, keeping everyone up-to-date on HIPPA regulations and work habits.

As a true collaborator, you work closely with our vocational evaluation and employment services staff to develop a curriculum that is tailored to the unique needs of each participant. You use a variety of resources to ensure that your classes are engaging and informative, from handouts and workbooks to web-based tools and other training materials. You go above and beyond to track each participant's progress, providing daily homework and personalized case notes that highlight their achievements and next steps. And, when a participant misses an appointment, you reach out to them to help them reschedule.

Additionally, you work with our placement specialists to organize hiring fairs, industry panels, and practice interview sessions that connect our participants with local employers. You take pride in representing our nonprofit and its values, and it brings you great joy to know that you are making a difference in the lives of our participants and the community as a whole.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE A WORK READINESS INSTRUCTOR - EMPLOYMENT TRAINER?

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience working with individuals seeking opportunities for employment
  • Covid-19 vaccination
