Wireless LAN/Wi-Fi Engineer

We are currently seeking a new or recent graduate for a Wireless LAN/Wi-Fi Engineer to join our team. C Squared Systems is a leader in the RF Engineering field, working with the biggest names in the industry. The WLAN Engineer is involved in the full turnkey cycle of Wi-Fi Networks including surveys, analysis, design, troubleshooting, installations, activations and documentation.

This is NOT an hourly/contract position. This is a direct hire salaried role.

Responsibilities of Wireless LAN Engineer Includes:

• Travel to customer facilities to perform Wireless LAN projects including:
  • Wireless LAN surveys and benchmarking
  • Installation of Wireless LAN Access Points
  • Wireless LAN configurations and activations
  • Wireless LAN testing and troubleshooting
• Evaluation and optimization of Wireless LAN systems using RF prediction and Wireless LAN data collection tools
• Diagnosing and solving Wi-Fi performance/connectivity problems
• Processing of collected data using automation and internal reporting scripts
• Development of presentation material and reports using propagation and mapping tools

Wireless LAN Engineer

Job Requirements:

• Completion of a four (4) year Bachelor of Science program in Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Equivalent Information Technology program is required.
• Experience or familiarity with computer networking is required.
• Knowledge of IEEE 802.11 Standards
• Knowledge or familiarity of basic network infrastructure and designs of 802.11 wireless networks
• Experience with High Level Scripting Languages such as Python
• Very strong computer skills required.
• Strong Troubleshooting and Problem Solving Skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Self-Motivated and have the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision
• Ability to learn quickly and understand technical materials.
• CWNA, Cisco, Extreme Networks or Aruba Wireless Certifications are preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of WLAN data collection tools is desirable.
• Experience or familiarity with RF Theory is desirable.
• The ability to travel domestically with no travel restrictions.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
• May be required to be fully vaccinated for Covid - 19

Physical Requirements:

• The person in this position needs to move about large facilities to perform site surveys and installations including ascending and descending stairs and other elevation changes.
• Regularly needs to ascend/descend a ladder to perform equipment installations.
• Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across facilities during equipment installations.
• Required to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
