Evening Shift: Monday to Friday - 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

PPG Sheffield Village Ohio has an exciting opportunity for a Welder. The Welder is a an important part of the production team. You will report to the Maintenance Manager, ensuring that all equipment and machinery are performing at top-notch! Your work will directly affect people's lives!

Starting Pay: $21.00

Evening Shift: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Some overtime and holidays may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Welding experience. Minimum 1+ years.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical information. Source materials to be used in assigned project. Maintain min/max quantities for steel and welding supplies.
• Measure and cutting of materials to specifications. Welding skills and a knowledge of metals, welding wire, gasses, plasma cutters and torches.
• Must be able to create fabricate jigs, holding fixtures, guides.
• Understanding of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (STICK WELDING) and Gas metal arc welding (MIG welding) and stick and MIG welder controls and capability to troubleshoot problems and correct.
• Will identify and use all common types of shop tools. (Reciprocating saws, band saws, grinders).

Qualifications

• General knowledge of a production process.
• Math, verbal and written skills.
• Must have two motor licenses (will train).
• Work overtime and weekends as required.
• Attend training as prescribed by immediate supervisor or corporate training procedure.
• Experience/working knowledge of maintenance.
