Job Summary
The Welder is responsible for performing setup on all entry level welding components that range from similar to dissimilar metals and alloys requiring a high degree of skill and welding technique or involving a considerable number of parts and/or smaller more complicated weldments where alignment, dimensions and weld quality must conform to strict quality standards

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accuracy with alignment, dimensions, materials, number of components, correct corresponding machine order and general inspection requirements.
  • Setup weldments per blueprint specifications.
  • Mig weld to blueprint specifications.
  • Tig, Arc, Stud weld and utilization of a torch.
  • Properly setup welding machines to obtain proper welding penetration.
  • Clean welds to check for imperfections.
  • Ensure proper finish squareness.
  • Interpretation of work orders, blueprints and bills of material.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

General supervision: routine duties are performed with minimal supervision. standard practices or procedures allow me to proceed alone at routine work. occasional check of work while in progress. work is reviewed upon completion.

Education and Experience
One-year certificate from college or technical school. or three to six months related experience and/or training. or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
Basic personal computer skills.

Work Schedule/Hours

1st Shift: 5:30am – 4:00pm, M-F may be required to work overtime on Saturdays
