Job description

The Waterfront Supervisor will work under the guidance of the Parks & Adventure
Programs Manager. He/She will be responsible for day to day boat operations and
supervision of 4-6 waterfront staff.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
o Ensure participant and staff safety and security at all times.
o Supervise, train and motivate waterfront staff with the support of the Assistant
Supervisor.
o Oversee day to day operations: opening & closing duties, cleaning procedures,
proper rental of boats, cash out of collected daily funds.
o Staffing schedule changes.
o Maintain proper record keeping by following interoffice procedures.
o Boat maintenance- ensure that equipment is in good working order – report any
anomalies to the Parks & Adventure Programs Manager.
o Maintain respectful communications with patrons.
o Assist with Recreation Department’s general programs as needed or required.
o Perform any other task related to this position as required.
o Lifeguard/Water Safety Certified is a plus.

Applicants should be capable of strenuous physical activity and enjoy the outdoors as this
position requires staff to be stationed outdoors for their entire shift. General knowledge
of waterfront operations is preferred. Applicant should possess excellent communication
skills and able to resolve conflicts in a positive, non-biased manner.
The Waterfront Supervisor should be an enthusiastic and motivated learner. Must be
capable of leading and working with groups of all ages including: young children, preteens,
adults and seniors. Flexibility, a pleasant personality, good organizational skills
and the ability to interact positively with the public are a must.
Applicant must be able to walk, run, stand, stoop, kneel, lift up to 40 pounds, speak
English clearly, and be able to see and hear.
