Description:
Duties: Perform inspections of water treatment plant; monitor and document plant operations; read plant equipment gauges, dials, graphs and other instrumentation. Operate and adjust treatment plant plumps, motors, feeders, and other equipment; maintain appropriate basin level. Document amount of chemicals used; report material or equipment needs to supervisor. Collect liquid samples including chlorine and pH samples from raw and finish water; assist in performing a variety of routine water quality laboratory tests. Perform other duties as assigned and must be able to lift 50 lbs. with no assistance and must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and multiple shifts in a work week.


Qualifications: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Possession of, or ability to obtain within eighteen months of employment, a valid Class D Water Works Certificate.

PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT, APPLICANT RECOMMENDED FOR EMPLOYMENTSHALL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A URINALYSIS AND/OR BLOOD TEST TO SCREEN FOR ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUG ABUSE.
