Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Receiving Items on packing list. Inspects all incoming, boxes, and surface shipping containers for damage. Compares received items and accompanying documents to purchase orders and contracts noting any discrepancies in report. Moves and stores incoming product to a secure location. Supervises warehousemen/lumpers in unloading, moving, and securing storage of incoming items. Affixes monthly expiration dates and year stickers to all incoming pallets.
• Supervises the operations of receiving platform section of the warehouse and assigns work and supervises lumpers and manages container workflow, assures that the assigned work is completed correctly and timely. Evaluates work performance of the staff and counsels when necessary.
• Compiles, prepares, and signs receiving reports, which show partial, complete, and/or final action. Documents quantities and expiration dates on all paperwork and incoming product.
• Documents all damages, overages, and shortages. Prepares distribution of documents to purchasing.
• Shipping responsibilities include checking of outbound order against pick ticket and quantities picked. Ensures that all product picked is clean, damaged free and supervises loading of order. Directs driver to office area to retrieve paperwork, BOL or invoice.
• Checks driver paperwork before allowing driver to leave facility.
• Maintains driver inbound/ outbound log identifying time in/out, Driver name, company,
• PO/order number, destination, number of pallets.

Education and Experience:

• Associates degree a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in receiving and distribution.
• Experience working with a unionized workforce.
• Basic familiarity with Micro-Soft Excel and Word. Advanced skills a plus.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems a plus (realizing we are currently a non-WMS company).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Solid time management skills, ability to prioritize and work under deadlines.
• Baseline knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Understands the concept of FIFO and has slotting experience.
