OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
The Warehouse Supervisor will provide project coordination and administrative support to the Warehouse Manager. Provides materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services, supervising staff.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, inspection and shipping operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping
- requirements by taking the required trainings and enforcing rules and laws.
- Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods
- Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees performance
- Organize and maintain inventory and storage area
- Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy
- Communicate job expectations and coach employees
- Determine staffing levels and assign workload
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
EDCUATION& WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight forwarding logistics including Freight Forwarding.
- Minimun 2 years in roles with supervisory responsibilities
- Ocean / Air DG training preferred.
- Computer literate.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Capacity for teamwork and willingness to assist others.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
- Must possess strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
