Summary: Perform a variety of duties to assist Supervisor with food and ingredient warehousing and logistic operations for Fresh & Ready Foods. Ensure the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and On-Time dispatch and delivery of food products. Work collaboratively with Quality Assurance, Production, and Purchasing Department team members to guarantee customer satisfaction and to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• “Hands-On” commitment to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Warehouse Department.

• Oversee and maintain the layout of stockrooms, warehouse, and storage areas (freezers, refrigerators/coolers).

• Assist Supervisor in planning employee work schedules; Oversee work for special and periodic inventories.

• Assist Supervisor to implement workflow and procedures; adjust as needed for continuous improvement and productivity.

• Oversee staff on care and preservation of food and ingredient items received including all perishables, stored, and shipped according to safety and sanitation specifications.

• Train staff in the correct use of industrial equipment; including industrial counterbalance forklifts, manual and electric pallet jacks, and pallet wrap machines.

• Oversee work performance of staff for exactness, accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures, and issue oral and written directions as appropriate.

• Assist Supervisor in the assessment and standardization of procedures to improve efficiency and reduce cost.

• The document records and ensures the accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and determines the adequacy of stock levels.

• Assist in the Investigation of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.

• Oversee warehouse tasks and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

• Assist in training staff members on proper food, receiving, and storage procedures established by Fresh & Ready Foods.

• Identify opportunities and find solutions for continuous improvement.

• Respond to staff and management questions in an accurate and timely manner.

• Address and respond promptly to the needs and inquiries of management.

• Identify and respond to problems with appropriate action and timely follow-up.

• Assist in the review of the departmental process to seek improvements.

• Support department & company goals that contribute to the success of Fresh & Ready Foods.

• Always maintain the strictest confidentiality on matters pertaining to the company and its customers, vendors, distributors, and staff.

• Promote by example the principles of Fresh & Ready Foods; promote team spirit.

• Ensure that office and work areas are always kept clean, safeguarding confidential information and documents.

• Consistently demonstrate professional verbal and written communication.

• Problem-solving, organizing, and balancing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.

• Maintain composure when handling unexpected challenges and competing demands

• Other duties as assigned by management.

• Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment, including coolers and freezers, with or without accommodation.

• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and extended hours as needed, including nights and weekends.

• Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred

• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

• Must be fast, accurate, and neat.

• Must have 1+ years of warehouse/manufacturing setting in a leadership/assistant role.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation.
