Job description

Boston Gourmet Chefs is looking for an experienced and dependable Order Selector for the night shift. This position is responsible for filling and palletizing customer orders for the next day delivery in a manner that meets company standards for safety, accuracy and productivity. All order selectors are trained on our Food Safety and HACCP programs to meet or exceed all food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently hand select orders within various warehouse environments of fluctuating temperatures, including Dry, Cooler and Freezer. Approximately 75% of workday will be spent in a sub-zero freezer environment.

• Stack product on pallets in accordance with proper selection process. Number each case with the route stop number.

• Operate an electric pallet jack to transport product.

• Stage pallets in order of route dispatch times.

• Perform sanitation nightly in each warehouse and office area as assigned.

• Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited to pallet jack.

• Frequently lift product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds.

• Frequently reach up to 72 inches; constantly bend and twist while operating a pallet jack, retrieving items from high & low shelf areas.

• Heavy ladder work required.

• Shrink-wrap pallets on docks.

• Work with receiving team to receive & putaway inbound PO’s.

• Product rotation, cycle counts and receiving responsibilities as required.

• Participate in Audit projects as required.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment. We all work together across departments & shifts to accomplish the best outcomes each day.

• Ability to work in a sub-zero freezer for prolonged periods of time. Full freezer gear is provided.

• Be comfortable in a facility that is manual. Learning the products and locations without the use of scan guns or selection programs.
