The Vice President of Facilities leads and supervises the property’s Facilities department, while adhering to an enterprise level performance standard that will be mirrored throughout the corporation. The Vice President holds responsibility for staffing, departmental budgeting, preventative and corrective maintenance, special projects, facility capital planning, union relationships, and facility operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee maintenance of the entire property’s electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, guest room towers, one of the city’s largest convention centers, multiple food and beverage outlets, plus the outside perimeter of the property including landscaped and parking areas.
  • Coordinate maintenance of several third party leased locations within the building footprint.
  • Establish expense budgets and develop capital investment projects, including a 5-year capital plan, communicating short-term goals with fellow management leaders.
  • Build accurate special-project budget estimates and timelines to be communicated at an executive level.
  • Partner with all union representation to ensure a good working relationship is maintained and all contractual agreements are met with minimized liabilities.
  • Evaluate building infrastructure and ensure needs are being monitored, tracked and maintained to ensure optimum efficiency and reliability.
  • Leverage the maintenance management software and framework to drive continuous improvement within the facilities department by using data to improve processes and efficiency; ensure optimum staffing to meet peak demands; manage inventory; and understand the tradeoffs between ongoing repair and maintenance versus capital investment. Understand Clark County Building and Administrative Code requirements and permit exemptions.
  • Ensure complete compliance with all regulating entities affecting the field of work including, but not limited to, CCFD, CCBD, SNHD, OSHA, NLRB, EPA, NEC, and NFPA. Manage outside contractors on all outsourced projects to ensure compliance, high level of execution, warranties, minimized waste, and budgetary guidelines.
  • Develop a property emergency response plan including on-site availability when necessary to direct activities during such events.
  • Ensure high level of service standards for the facility operations team as well as exceptional inter-departmental collaboration, communication, and support.
  • Provide leadership in the department to create a work environment that promotes teamwork, efficiency and productivity, recognition and respect, employee satisfaction, high caliber staffing, training, and exemplify oneself as a role model and standard for the department.
  • Routinely organize and hold staff meetings review department projects and safety programs
  • Integrate a succession planning program for growth opportunities and support of the future management workforce.
  • Possess computer abilities using basic Microsoft Office programs, Maintenance Management Programs, Hotel Management and Booking Systems, and Building Automation Systems.
  • Lead organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies.
  • Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks.
  • Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior.
  • Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where team members feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ prior Facility Management experience required.
  • Engineering degree a plus.
  • Experience with Maintenance Management and/or building automation systems experience a plus.

OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills in a professional manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and general computer skills.
