Salary Range: $52000 - $81000 / year
Responsibilities:
Volunteer Services and Community Outreach Manager Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for development of Volunteer Strategic Plan to ensure compliance with conditions of participation in conjunction with the strategic vision of the program site. Collaborate with Executive Director and Patient Experience leadership team. Participate on committees, community boards, and identify unmet community needs to support the site's Volunteer Strategic Plan
  • Attend Interdisciplinary Team meetings and participate in the development and review of the plan of care for patients and their families. Create and maintain a "Speaker's Bureau" to further establish the program site's presence in the community. Collaborate with the site's Community Educator. Participate in the overall growth strategy of the site, including community outreach efforts
  • Review new admissions, assign volunteers and provide the necessary information both verbally and written. Maintain regular contact with patient & family support volunteers to discuss volunteers' interactions, assess working relationship with other team members, keep volunteers informed of changes in the patient's condition and plan of care, encourage timely documentation, offer support to, and provide additional information and resources to volunteers as needed
  • Oversee the Foundation Chair role and Volunteer Services Coordinators, as needed. Maintain volunteer records, including volunteer lists, availability, assignments (both patient and non-patient related), time and mileage records, cost-saving data, personnel files, and department budget (both recruitment and retention budget lines). Manage and participate in volunteer recruitment, interviews, and recognition activities
  • Coordinate volunteer training classes and ongoing volunteer education and support meetings. Participate in teaching virtual Orientation classes, serving on Volunteer Department Practice Council, and/or serving as a Volgistics superuser. Participate in leadership meetings in the absence of a Director-Patient Experience. Manage Circle-of-Care Calls to assist program in anticipating and resolving patient requests. Support bereavement program at program site, including training volunteers to complete bereavement calls and visits, offer counseling and support, facilitate bereavement support groups, anchor annual memorial service, participate in monthly bereavement committee meetings and maintain bereavement binder
  • Participate in informational, election of benefits, and consent visits as part of supportive care rotation, including On-call rotation, back-up Administrator On Call (AOC) rotation, and provide after-hours coverage as specified by needs of the agency; Back-to-Bedside rotation as member of leadership
Qualifications:
Volunteer Services and Community Outreach Manager Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
  • Psychosocial board-certification or licensure, preferred
  • 2+ years previous experience as a professional or volunteer in healthcare, human services or similar agency. 2+ years management or supervisory experience, preferred
  • Must have reliable automobile, valid driver’s license and the minimum state required liability auto insurance
