Clubhouse playroom needs volunteers to join in crafts, video games, imagination time, and more! Do you like to work with kids of all ages? Do you like to be in a fun space with movies, art supplies, and games? Come join our team!

The Clubhouse volunteers really are a lifesaver for a stressed parent. Some of our families must travel hours in the car to get to the appointment! Giving the kids an energy outlet helps them and their parents to have a much better experience.

We see kids starting at age 2, and families from all walks of life, all with different backgrounds and unique health challenges. The mix of children, ages, and medical conditions is constantly changing throughout the day. Volunteers offer an enthusiastic, caring environment while engaging children in age-appropriate games, activities, and crafts. Play helps reduce the anxiety and fear children may experience regarding clinic or hospital visits.

Volunteers assist in all tasks related to the playroom including maintaining toys and playroom supplies, distributing crafts, making deliveries, etc. Each day is different, and volunteers need to be able to respond well to a variety of responsibilities and assignments in the playroom.

Shifts are 3 hours in length, running Monday to Thursday 9:00a-6:00p and Friday 9:00a-3:00p. Volunteers sign up for a three hour shift each week, the commitment is for 6 months or 80 hours. Some shifts may be full and not adding additional staff at this time. Volunteers will be selected based on availability and qualifications.

Current shift needs are as follows:

Monday 9a-12p

Tuesday 3-6p

Wednesday 9a-12p

Thursday 9a-12p, 12-3p, 3-6p

Friday 9a-12p

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Able to follow and execute instructions
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Able to work with children in varying age groups
  • Able to work well with diverse populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitive to patient and family situations / dynamics
  • Maintain and respect professional relationships
