Turn Me Up is looking for a motivated and creative Voiceover Audio Engineer, responsible for owning the process of dialogue recording on-site for a narrative-driven title.

Note: This role is NOT remote, you must work onsite in Burbank.

What You'll Do:

• Work with the Audio Team to spearhead the voiceover pipeline, with support from the Audio and Production teams.
• Oversee the dialogue recording process for the game, while assisting the Audio Team with voiceover selections and editing as-needed.
• Advocate for talent, managing talent needs and vocal stress.

• Direct voice over talent for in-game dialogue, as well as effort/exertion and other incidental sounds.
• Create and maintain a positive, collaborative environment for recording sessions to ensure a high level of performance from all talent.
• Internalize the goals of our Narrative and Quest Designers in regard to dialogue, and ensure those goals are met during recording sessions.
• Collaborate with Producers and Engineers on all aspects of preparing and running VO sessions.
• Follow the established guidelines and processes for dialogue production, while evaluating these processes and identifying improvements.

What Would Make a Strong Candidate:

Soft Skills

• Strong understanding of dialogue timing, pacing, tone, and nuance within a performance.
• Strong understanding of cinematic aesthetic, and a passion for narrative and story.
• Able to identify and unpack creative targets, and direct voiceover recording sessions to achieve those targets.
• Proficient communicator with a positive energy.
• A keen eye for efficiency, both during sessions and when handing off audio to an audio editor.
• Willingness to grow, learn, and assist the Audio Team in refining the process.
• Ability to multitask and stay detail oriented within a fast paced environment.
• Knowing when to ask for help, and when to pause and re-evaluate if issues arise during a session.
• Highly organized, with documentation skills as well as the ability to work with a large amount of audio assets.

Technical Skills

• Experience with audio recording, design, and editing.
• Experience with DAW-focused audio workflows – Knowledge of Cockos Reaper software is a plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, game engine functionality as it relates to dialogue and voiceover.
• Understanding of modern game narrative/dialogue systems.
