A Virtual Meetings Consultant is a strong technical project manager who owns and supports the virtual meeting strategy for clients. This individual will demonstrate a true passion for virtual event management and understands the critical path involved in delivering virtual meetings and webinar solutions that meet customer needs. The Virtual Meetings Consultant creates scenarios of platform options for the client, consulting on virtual platform features and capabilities, and is a key thought leader both internally and externally in this fast-evolving technical space. The role involves working closely with our technical and digital teams as well as coordinating with internal and external customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Own and support virtual meeting strategy for clients.
  • A strong understanding of preferred virtual meeting platforms and acts as a subject matter expert on features and functionality by explaining the pros/cons, recommending features, and the best way to configure platforms for customers specific needs.
  • Act as a guide for internal and client stakeholders through the clients preferred virtual meeting process.
  • Identify and assess new releases, configurations, or integrations for customer event options. Partner with customer to support new implementations by consulting, sharing best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Liaising with providers of platforms to problem solve and look for innovative solutions when needed.
  • Provide insight into best practices and make recommendations to optimize configurations, integrations, and platform capabilities.
  • Ability to understand the end-to-end process to identify opportunities to streamline and gain efficiencies for customer.
  • Support of ops teams who manage the entire event & planning process.
  • Establish regular touchpoints and feedback loops to maintain an aligned approach to virtual event management & strategy.
  • Coordinate and conduct new user training and end user retraining, when necessary.
  • Create and maintain training documents, manuals, and self-help tools (FAQ, checklist, on-demand training, etc.).
  • Present internally as an SME on meetings technology and related topics.
  • Manage different projects with competing deadlines and deliverables.
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of managing corporate strategy for virtual events and virtual event management.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of work experience in project or client management role, preferably in the corporate meetings industry, software, or other high-tech industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, IT or relevant work experience preferred.
  • Experience in the Life Science and Pharmaceutical vertical is preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills, able to communicate at various levels of the organization and tailor written and verbal messages to fit audiences; client-facing experience required.
  • Must be customer and internal stakeholder-advocate; willing to do what it takes to surpass client and internal stakeholder expectations. Having account management or customer service experience is a plus.
  • Strong business and/or technical analysis background, able to lead teams, without direct authority, and through complex requirements definition and analysis of business solutions
  • Strong project management ability with a high level of attention to detail. Expert understanding of critical path planning.
  • Highly articulate and great listener, detail-oriented, yet able to simplify complex concepts into layman’s terms for greater understanding. Translation of technical information into non-technical instructions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain professionalism even in a demanding and fast paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Ability to comprehend and diagram process flows and identify opportunities to streamline and improve efficiency
  • Demonstrable aptitude for learning and applying industry specific business knowledge in a fast paced, analytical, and team-oriented environment
  • Eagerness to perform a range of activities related to meeting technology tools
  • Ability to work independently with strong organization skills, discipline, persistence, and accountability
  • Expertise in MS Office productivity tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Must be willing to travel approximately less than 10% of the time
  • Must be willing to work virtually

Location
United States - Virtual Location

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $46,000 to $93,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
