JOB SUMMARY
The Video Compliance Technician is responsible for responding in a timely and courteous manner to all internal/external agency requests for video surveillance footage relating, but not limited to patient care, complaints/grievances, investigations and process improvement. In this role, the Video Compliance Technician works collaboratively within the agency to support comprehensive video surveillance reviews of significant events, incidents, accident and deaths, medication errors and other situations as identified.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts comprehensive review of video surveillance in order to identify incident(s)/event(s) or other situations as requested.
  • Reports incident/event determinations based on video evidence.
  • Timeline video surveillance events, as needed.
  • Identifies and communicates to Compliance leadership any patient health and safety concerns noted during video surveillance reviews.
  • Tracks and trends video surveillance requests relating, but not limited to program, site, and requestor.
  • Conducts video surveillance audits & monitoring activities, including development of audit tools/reports and research of relevant requirements and/or policies and procedures
  • Operates electronic equipment to record, edit, collate, and transmit electronic media.
  • Compresses, digitizes, duplicates, and stores video data.
  • Trims film segments to specified lengths and/or assemble segments in chronological sequences.
  • Stores, retrieves, and manipulates data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
  • Collaborates with network analysts to diagnose and resolve media system problems.
  • Confers with network or systems analysts and others to maintain video surveillance system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Collaborates with the Information Technology (IT) Department to modify existing video surveillance software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
  • Works collaboratively with the Compliance and Quality team and other internal stakeholders to meet the needs of the agency.
  • Protects each patient’s confidentiality within the parameters of federal guidelines and established policy and process.
  • Adheres to established policy and process for this assignment.
  • Meets time frames established by Standards and Compliance leadership
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Must be in recovery from Alcohol or Drugs and/or GMH for equal to or greater than 1 consecutive year.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, CREDENTIALS, REGISTRATIONS
  • Current AZ Driver’s License or equivalent of state of residence.
  • Clear 39-month Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
OTHER SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Able to adhere to all compliance regulations including, HIPAA; Fraud, Waste, and Abuse; Harassment; etc. Able to read and comprehends information without difficulty.
  • Able to read and comprehend information without difficulty.
  • Able to type 40/wpm.
  • Able to utilize Microsoft systems such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Able to coherently communicate with others.
  • Able to synthesize complex information and report it to others in a calm and precise manner.

This is an entry level position. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a typical field; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; performs a variety of tasks; works under general supervision; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
