Vice President of Curriculum and Instruction

The Vice President of Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for developing and executing the vision and strategy of the Academic Program model under the Chief Academic Officer for AMS. This role serves to ensure that 100% of scholars receive the Best Education across every AMS campus. As Vice President of Curriculum and Instruction, you will lead a team of Deputy Directors who are responsible for the adoption, implementation and supplementation of curricula across all content areas. You will partner with Directors across multiple departments to ensure the suite of products and services offered by your Academic Services Team ensures all campuses are A-rated. In addition, you will work with your team to analyze both quantitative and qualitative feedback at multiple levels.

As part of the Schools team, you will contribute to reaching the following ambitious goals:

  • All Campuses earn an A-rating

  • 85% Teacher Retention | 85% Staff Retention

  • 90% Leader Retention

  • TBD by VP of Curriculum and Instruction and Chief Academic Officer based on critical role initiatives and responsibilities once hired and onboarded

ADM

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 3+ years of experience in Curriculum and Instruction

  • Must be proficient in Powerpoint, Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office products

  • Experience with performance development and evaluation practices/systems strongly preferred

  • Campus leadership experience strongly preferred

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and expertise on pedagogy across multiple disciplines

  • Knowledge and expertise on backward planning and UBD

  • Knowledge and experience in performance development and/or performance-based goal systems and structures

  • Skill in organization, prioritization, execution and follow through

  • Skill in critical thinking and problem-solving at large scales across varying levels of impact

  • Skill in effective communication, both written and oral with multiple stakeholder types

  • Ability to analyze and present data to identify trends, build narratives, and inform strategies

  • Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks at once

  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and time sensitive tasks
