Overview:
Northwest Permanente has retained DHR Global’s Healthcare Practice to conduct a search for our Vice President of Human Resources. This group will be reaching out to all qualified applicants.

The Vice President of Human Resources will be a direct report to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Medical Director. Responsibilities will include architecting and developing a world-class “people-first” human resources team to meet the needs of Northwest Permanente's (NWP) workforce and deliver outstanding care to Northwest Kaiser Permanente’s patients. Serving as a strategic business partner, the Vice President of Human Resources will be responsible for all HR functions including compensation, benefits, payroll, talent acquisition, diversity, inclusion, HRIS, wellness, training, and professional development. As a member of the NWP Executive Team, the VP of HR will collaborate with fellow team members. He/She/They will work within NWP’s dyad leadership model with their physician partner, the Chief People Officer.

This role will be integral toward building NWP’s capacity to accommodate growth while shaping a culture that supports wellness, personal resilience, and professional fulfillment, and advancing NWP’s mission, vision, values, and business imperatives.

This is a hybrid position that is a blend of working both remotely and in office. Must reside in the Northwest Service Region (Oregon or Washington).

Responsibilities:
Major Accountabilities

The VP of HR will prioritize and execute on a range of imperatives to ensure policies, procedures, and processes are inclusive and legally compliant and support NWP’s workforce capabilities toward delivering outstanding care to Northwest Kaiser Permanente’s patients. To that end, he/she/they will:

Champion NWP’s human resources vision and linkage to the strategic operating plan
Lead short and long-range HR strategic planning centered around innovation efforts thus enabling NWP to evolve with relevance
Support the President/CEO/EMD in Executive team recruitment/selection, coaching, development and performance
Conduct due diligence and collaborate when necessary, stewarding the HR budget that maximizes the greatest return on investment toward the development of a world-class HR organization
Establish strategic action plans across HR departments, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and NWP’s mission, vision and values
Manage change through clear communication, conveying messaging appropriate to stakeholders and end-users
Mentor and develop staff emphasizing teamwork, collaboration, resources, while aligning best practices

Qualifications:
Minimum / Preferred Education

Master’s degree preferred or Bachelor’s with equivalent experience

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

15+ years total experience demonstrating progressive HR leadership
Demonstrated success leading complex initiatives and projects with experience in areas such as strategic planning, executive coaching, project management and human resources management and compliance
Functional expertise across all facets of human resources management as well as knowledge of effective DE&I and community engagement practices
Experience with highly trained and credentialed professional services providers such as medical groups, law practices or academia
Outstanding interpersonal, coaching and listening skills with the ability to communicate throughout all levels of the organization
Ability to effectively present HR strategy and initiatives to all levels of the organization
Experience with providing well-researched solutions to ongoing and non-recurring challenges facing the organization
Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and wage laws and regulations
