This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain /maintain a Secret level DoD clearance level.
Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for multiple Engineering, Configuration Management, Integrated Logistics Support and Technical Services contracts which supports defense work at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport Rhode Island. Our team upgrades, maintains and manages the hardware and software systems of multiple Navy platforms and systems to ensure the safety of the sailors and to allow them to perform their missions successfully.
You will be part of a 22–25-member team that collaborates closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. The designated program manager leads this team with over 39 years’ experience. The team has been recognized by the Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and test all aspects of electrical, mechanical, optical components, equipment, and machinery. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments.
- Serve as a technical expert, providing both internal and external consulting services.
- Work independently on advanced systems/software analysis projects.
- Remain current in operating systems/software analysis technological developments and applications as applied to military and commercial unmanned undersea systems.
- Provide expertise and direction in the development or modification of complex software programs to enhance unmanned systems operating systems
- Lead special studies.

Support Failure Analysis and corrective Action investigations
- Lead the development and creation of systems level Technical Data Packages for complex systems
- Perform systems modelling and simulation tasks
- Perform software development and modifications for unmanned systems and platforms, missiles and launcher systems, associated components
- Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 8-10 years of systems engineering experience within an unmanned system and platform. Military experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance via sponsorship post-employment.

Experience creating, reviewing and maintaining systems level Technical Data Packages for complex unmanned systems.
- Experience performing modelling and simulation of complex systems
- Experience performing systems development, integration, and modification of electrical, mechanical, or optical components, equipment, and machinery as applied to military and commercial unmanned undersea systems.
- Travel may be required up to 10%.
- Effective customer and organizational level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
