Huntington’s Liquidity Team, as part of Corporate Treasury, is seeking an experienced Funding Manager to lead the funding desk and supporting analytics for the bank. This key, high profile position is responsible for managing the Bank’s wholesale liquidity and for taking action as required to ensure the Bank has access to funds to meet its obligations. The Funding Manager is also responsible for setting and executing upon the funding strategy of the bank while operating within the established risk appetite. The ideal candidate will be strategic and analytical with the ability to drive key funding decisions. Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

• Establish and maintain access to various wholesale funding sources and intermediaries from which the Bank can raise funds when necessary.
• Develop funding strategies to optimize funding and manage liquidity risk within the established risk appetite. Develop a funding plan that provides guidance as to the source, type, and tenor of funding.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders (FP&A and business segments) to develop a deep knowledge of liquidity dynamics of the various assets and liabilities and incorporate it into funding decisions. Assist Treasury management in providing guidance to the line business units with their deposit gathering and deposit pricing endeavors.
• Develop and oversee short- and long-term cash flow projections, intraday liquidity management, FHLB/FRB collateral programs, and short-term wholesale funding initiatives.
• Complete due diligence on broker / dealer intermediaries on at least an annual basis.
• Participate in periodic internal audit and regulatory exams and manage the relationship with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Independently develop accurate, relevant, and timely reporting to support decision making while ensuring proper governance.
• Interact with the back office and middle office teams in Capital Markets to ensure that the Funding department has effective support for its operating requirements
• Ensure compliance with funding and liquidity policy limits and identification and timely escalation of emerging risks.
• Supervise and effectively manage the Funding trader(s) and other staff members.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years Corporate Treasury experience with experience in Funding and/or liquidity risk management in the financial services industry.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of a bank’s balance sheet and macroeconomic dynamics.
• Expert knowledge of bond math and funding products.
• Sound analytical skills and the ability to synthesize results into meaningful outcomes for key stakeholders.
• Executive presence, ability to communicate complex concepts and interact with senior stakeholders, regulators, and counterparties.
• Seasoned interpersonal and people management skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient with Bloomberg and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Modeling experience with a focus on short – and long-term cash flow projections and regression testing.
• Experience with FHLB & FRB collateral management programs.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to liquidity risk management.
• Ability to mentor and develop colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to work independently.
• Postgraduate degree in finance, economics or related fields and / or CFA/FRM certification.
