Description:

The Trading Analyst role will be based within the Trading & Origination division which is Statkraft’s central commercial unit for the proprietary trading of standard and origination of non-standard energy related products. This progressive and high performing unit spearheads the role of market integrator for third party renewable and flexible assets encompassing the supply of power and green solutions to customers in both Europe and across the US.

As a fundamental part of the US Trading and Origination business, the Trading Analyst will become an integral member of the Environmental Commodity Trading team and play an essential role in the execution and development of our US proposition.

With the key focus on creating, owning, and enhancing key tools and methods used for the day to day trading and management of the portfolio, you will provide high impact support with the team’s trade execution, fundamental market analysis, trade settlement, risk reporting and deal entry. As a driven and commercially minded individual, you will have a strong analytical background with the passion for and experience in commodities and/or financial markets.

• Provide a fundamental micro and macro analysis of US environmental markets, to assist Portfolio Managers in making quick trading decisions
• Develop, innovate and automate the dashboards/tools used to support the day-to-day management of the portfolio
• Assume ownership and deliver Trade Execution for US environmental commodities via the various exchanges (eg. ICE; NODAL)
• Ensure the timely and accurate Deal Entry Management of both exchange and bilateral transactions
• Proactively research, investigate and feedback to the team any movements or changes to relevant policy, product, and market developments
• Support transactions from deal closing through settlement, including registry of transfers and invoice settlements

• Understanding of applied and financial mathematics concepts and techniques
• Ability to understand and quickly navigate fundamental industry concepts including energy commodity/regulatory markets, portfolio valuation
• Strong understanding of financial modelling, specifically using Python and/or VBA, Matlab
• Team player with a high level of personal integrity
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment
