Tool & Die Designer Trainee

SUMMARY:

Under controlled supervision, works on all training activities necessary for designing, modifying and developing stamping dies used by Metalis-USA, utilizing AutoCAD and/or Solidworks by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate with instructors to ensure that the training objectives and instructions are clear and understood.
• Co-operate with instructors to make sure every step of training is completed on time and successfully.
• Be focused and attentive throughout the training cycle and ask questions if something is not clear.
• Be on time for all meetings, discussions, training classes and offsite classes as required.
• Strive to exceed expectations to the successful completion of your training.
• Actively participate and contribute to the functions and needs of each department you are assigned to.
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Comply with all federal and state safety regulations in addition to Metalis USA safety and security procedures. Adhere to all federal & state laws, regulations and company policies relating to employment.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time, and occasional travel between departments and divisions. The atmosphere is a climatic office setting,

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate.
• Must have the ability to stay focused as well as contribute within a team setting.
• Must be able to think methodically and technically.
• Must possess the skills to be technically aggressive.
• Must have a working knowledge of office software programs such as Microsoft Windows applications.
• Must have a working knowledge of CAD systems and a working knowledge of manufacturing practices.
• Must be able to communicate and understand written, verbal, video communication.
• Must be able to wear personal protection equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
• Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks and have the ability and interpersonal skills to work as a team member.
• Must be able to understand and apply work-related documents, ex: operating, maintenance and procedure manuals.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks preferred.
• Technical school certificate preferred.
• Machine shop and/or tool & die maker experience a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
