Responsibilities:
Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is looking to hire a Thermal Engineer.

Noblis is looking to hire a Thermal Engineer who will:
  • Provide engineering and technical support for development of a three-dimensional (3D) model representative of weather boundary surfaces
  • Perform FEA (see qualifications) and testing support
  • Perform feasibility, concept, and integration studies in suppoort of energy conversion research
  • Perform data mining and mathmatical calculations as required
  • Develop technical briefing materials
  • Develop and/or update thermal analysis models
Qualifications:

Candidates should have a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3 (three) years' experience in support of thermal management programs, including:
    • Performing computation fluid dynamic (CFD) analysis on compressible and incompressible fluid systems
    • Providing finite element analysis (FEA)
    • Performing feasibility, concept, and integration studies in support of energy converion research
    • Experience performing data mining and mathematical calculation
  • Experience utilizing 3D CAD and Ansys Suite
  • Secret Clearance Required
Desired skills and knowledge:
  • MATLAB / Simulink Experience
  • Understanding of 2 phase cooling systems

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position
is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
