Position Summary

This position works under the direction of the Testing Center Coordinator and is responsible for administration of exams, informing students of scores, following prescribed testing procedures, input of testing scores, and working with students, instructors, and other stakeholders. The Testing Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Testing Center and providing superior customer service.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain the integrity and security of testing and the Testing Center by following all security and privacy protocols.
  • Must obtain and maintain test proctor/administrator certifications for all tests requiring it.
  • Administer and proctor tests available in the Testing Center and interpret tests/assessments according to the guidelines set forth by the publisher.
  • Monitor examinees while testing.
  • Input assessment data into the student database with a high level of accuracy.
  • Monitor the use of supplies and notify the Testing Coordinator when supplies need to be re-ordered.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all students and visitors.
  • It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum one-year of customer service experience, six months experience in a testing environment, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiar with word processing, email, and can operate a Windows-based personal computer.
  • Strong customer service skills in person and on the phone, professional assertiveness in maintaining testing center rules, ability to work independently, strong attention to detail with data entry, and ability to write concise reports.
  • Must be comfortable in a quiet testing environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with individuals of all racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Spanish-speaking proficiency is desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
  • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.

Additional Information

Working Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
