Supply Chain is a customer-focused Center of Excellence providing industry-leading service while delivering differential value to the business, today and into the future. We separate our Supply Chain functions into several areas; these include logistics, customer fulfillment, services, trade compliance, and support for business processes and systems.

As a member of our dynamic Supply Chain team, you will play a critical role in helping us supply our products to a global customer base. In this dual individual contributor and contributing through others role, you will be responsible for leading the strategic sourcing process for all terminal and inspection services as well as leading a team of two Operations Specialists. During a typical day, your activities may include working with commercial groups and other supply chain sourcing managers to craft an effective storage strategy, negotiating a new agreement for storage or inspection services, amending existing agreements due to changing commercial needs, or working with your team to find effective solutions to tactical logistical issues,

This position reports to the Manager, Marine & Terminals and is located at our North American Headquarters in Downtown Houston. The position offers a competitive base salary, bonus, 401K matching, generous benefits package, pension plan, parking subsidy and employee discounts.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage terminal sourcing process including requirements planning, market analysis, developing RFP bid packages, bid analysis, contract negotiation and provider selection. Approximate annual spend $230MM.
  • Lead team of two Terminal Operations Specialist, who support third party terminal operations to maximize asset utilization, optimize spend, and meet business requirements.
  • Manage relationships with internal business partners and external service providers aligning commercial strategy and operational practices.
  • Monitor tank storage utilization. Develop and enact optimization opportunities.
  • Develop and enact projects that produce transformative change.
  • Establish cost forecasts, monitor actual cost performance.
  • Maintain key performance indicators (KPI) that ensure compliance, operations excellence, cost discipline and improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate goals to team members to foster growth and career development.
  • Encourage a positive culture that respects people and promotes continuous improvement.

Min. Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, plant or terminal operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
  • Proven ability to enact transformative change yielding improvements in cost and sustainability.
  • Leadership experience (either managerial or projects)
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
  • Demonstratable commercial acumen.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that requires rapid decision-making and task delegation with immediate impact on business results.
  • Meets qualification requirements for Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in chemical terminals or plant operations and associated logistics.
  • Managerial courage and the desire to lead and develop personnel
  • Team player with ability to interface with peers and staff at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply to sound recommendations and decisions.
  • Proficiency in SAP (BI).
