Tenant Services Specialist

MSC is currently seeking a full-time Tenant Services Specialist to connect with pre-identified

landlords and tenants in South King County (South Seattle, Renton, Kent, Auburn, Des Moines, Federal

Way) to develop and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships to increase tenants’ access to

resources in South King County; with potential to expand the project throughout other sites in King

County.

The Tenant Services Specialist reports to the Community Programs Supervisor. This position is

located at our MSC facilities in Federal Way and Kent. It might require visiting other King County

services sites.

Status and Schedule

  • Non-Exempt, Full-time, Monday – Friday 8:30 AM. to 5:00 PM.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Interface with HNN Associates management and individual property investment managers.
  • Plan and implement events and workshops at properties, including evenings and weekends,
including those in collaboration with Tenant Connect or MSC staff.
  • Serve as a link between residents and resources; provide information, referrals, and

assistance to drop-in and telephone customers.

  • Serve as the customer advocate for needed services.
  • Conduct community events at least quarterly.
  • Conduct community needs assessments at HNN Associates sites.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of the Tenant Connect websites and resource
materials through the research of service providers for each affordable housing location.
  • Maintain customer information and services provided in MSC’s database.
  • Assist in program development work.
  • Facilitate identification of household strengths and needs, at identified properties.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication and coordination with tenants, property

managers, maintenance staff, and others.

  • Maintain operation, management, and provision of services that are culturally and

linguistically appropriate.

  • Accommodate the needs of special populations, including survivors of domestic
violence, limited or non-English speakers, and immigrants and refugees. Ensure language

access is available.

  • Travel to MSC offices and program meetings throughout south King County and the city of

Seattle.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree in social services or comparable field

preferred.

  • At least two years of direct service experience, especially in housing navigation, resource

navigation, and case management.

  • Empathy for low-income, homeless, elderly, and otherwise families and individuals in need.
  • Bilingual preferred. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Be proficient with basic computer skills, including MS 365 email and calendaring, Word and

Excel, and a willingness and ability to learn additional databases.

  • Knowledge of multi-line phones.
  • High-level communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and phone manners.
  • Accurate, efficient, detail-oriented work skills; organization, leadership, flexibility, problem

solving, and decision-making abilities.

Wage/Salary Range

Grade: 12 / $22.04 to $24.09 DOE
