PTI is currently looking fo Full Time/ Part Time/ PRN Speech Therapists!

Job Summary: Monday - Thursday 8a-6pm. Friday 8a-12pm

A registered professional who provides coordinated care to patients of all age groups. Plans, implements and evaluates patient care plans to restore or maintain patient well being. Plans, organizes and conducts physical therapy treatment programs based on the medical referral and their evaluation. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team.

Job Qualifications:

Education: Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university

Licensure: Current Texas State License in Speech-Language Pathology, Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language Hearing Association, current Texas Drivers License

Experience: Two years experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting, pediatric focus and home health preferred.

Skills: Therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrates proven decision making skills.

Environmental and Working Conditions:

Performs duties in an office environment during agency operating hours. If required to make patient visits, may work in patients home in various conditions; possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids and infections diseases; need proof of current CPR, and Hepatitis profile; ability to work flexible schedule; ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather; PRN emergency call. Must be available at all times either in person or via telecommunications.

Physical and Mental Effort:

Ability to do heavy lifting, bending, pulling, pushing and standing. Prolonged standing and walking required. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs and to meet patient/family individualized psycho social needs.Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Essential Functions

Supervises and provides direction to subordinates, in an effort to ensure quality, compliance with Plan of Care if applicable.

Assessment and reassessment of patient’s needs and continuity of services by appropriate health care personnel.

Monitors QAPI Program and assures appropriate corrective measures are performed.

Promotes compliance with all payers, through education, coaching, and other assistance as necessary

Monitors systems and identifies problem areas to Administrator both verbally and through written reports.

Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/licensing board

Promotes and educates regarding the concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.

Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitates the use of these skills by other team members to achieve desirable outcomes'
