What We Are Looking For
G+D has an outstanding opportunity for a Team Lead working on the 1st shift in our Bolingbrook facility. The Team Lead functions as a shift lead for production activity in a specific department within the manufacturing plant.What You Will Do
- Serve as Lead for a specific shift for production activities within a department of the manufacturing plant.
- Train other department team members, including agency employees.
- Coordinate production activities within the department.
- Act as go-to person for daily questions in the department.
- Monitor performance and attendance issues within the department, sharing feedback with department Supervisor or Manager.
- Serve as subject matter expert for the production machines in the department.
- Relay issues and concerns to Production Manager for the department.
- Review production quality control.
- Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel 6S.
- Follow compliance on policies, procedures, processes, and general company information.
- Additional related responsibilities and duties may be assigned as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing plant environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of work experience as a Lead in a manufacturing or warehouse facility.
- A customer focused team player with strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing, Quality standards, and GMP.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and a service orientation.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Must possess high standards of personal integrity.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Requires working on hard floor – regularly standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting and stooping.
- Requires the ability to lift 15 pounds with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Regular and consistent attendance, including overtime whether on a voluntary or mandatory basis.
