TELEWORK

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a part of the division’s San Antonio’s Water Program team, our Team Leader will play a key role in achieving TCEQ’s mission. You would use your skills and experience to:

  • Manage the staff and resources of the San Antonio Region’s Water Programs and provide support and occasional oversight during emergency response events.
  • Manage and communicate information regarding compliance, enforcement, and monitoring activities for the region’s Water Program. Develop and monitor the progress of on demand and CMS investigative commitments.
  • Coordinate, schedule, monitor, and communicate information regarding the progress of the region’s Water Section.
  • Hire, develop, and appraise the performance of the staff.
  • Provide outreach and assistance to the public, regulated community, media, and government officials.
  • Provide technical and programmatic input for regulation development.
  • Provide support and oversight for region’s Emergency Response Program.
  • Advise the Regional Director of significant program issues.
Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.

OR

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience conducting technical reviews of Compliance and Enforcement Investigation Reports.
  • Experience reviewing and approving Compliance and Enforcement Investigation Reports.
  • Degree with a major in engineering, geology, or environmental science.
  • Experience hiring and supervising staff and conducting performance management activities.
  • Experience planning and assigning work.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Program Supervisor VI state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Program Supervisor VI series.
