Job Purpose
Reporting to the Tax Technology & Data Lead, the Tax Technology & Data Analyst will be responsible for helping to establish and deliver BorgWarner’s tax technology roadmap in order to ensure the tax team are best placed to meet the increasing requirements of an ever more complex tax environment. This role will also be responsible for providing support to users of current and future tax technologies, for supporting the broader tax technology development of the tax team, and for identifying and implementing technology driven efficiencies.
Key responsibilities
Supports the Tax Technology & Data Lead in developing and executing the BW tax technology roadmap
- Gathers input from tax team members and other functional areas to help define roadmap
- Assists Tax Technology & Data Lead to assess technology options and to implement roadmap as a key bridge between tax and IT teams
Provides internal support for current and future tax technology and their application to key tax processes
- Key role in helping provide CTG and OneSource tax support for BW global operations
- Updates master tax data repository and interaction of repository with key tax accounting and modelling tools
- Helps support quarterly and annual tax rate inputs and analytics from a technology perspective
- Assists with M&A integration to ensure all relevant tax information obtained
Assists Tax Technology & Data Lead to identify and assess additional technology driven efficiencies
- Works with tax function to develop technology solutions aimed at minimizing manual efforts
- Assists with the implementation of such solutions as a key bridge between tax and IT teams
- Maintains cost/benefit tracker to measure enhancements
- Supports Tax Technology & Data Lead in providing regular status updates to senior management
Responsible for maintaining a current view of key data analytics and visualization tools/developments and the technology education of the broader tax team
- Develop a strong peer network to share ideas and identify latest developments
- Attend external tax technology events to help inform other aspects of role and tax team
- Key resource in defining “the art of the possible” from a tax technology perspective and in being an “agent of change”
What we’re looking for
- Must have relevant experience involving the application of technologies in a tax context and must be able to demonstrate a practical application of that experience
- Must have experience of tax transformation activities and in utilizing tax technology to simplify tax team processes
- Must have advanced-level computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint) and advanced-level computer skills in the next generation of data warehouse, analytic, and visualization tools (e.g., Alteryx, PowerBi, etc.)
- Bachelor’ degree in accounting and CPA preferred
- Experience with OneSource Income Tax and OneSource Tax Provision required; Experience with one of Hyperion, SAP and OneStream required
- Knowledge of US international tax rules including introduced in 2017 preferred
- Must have experience of working as part of a cross-functional team and the ability to build relationships within an organization
- Must be results focussed with a sense of urgency in execution

- Must have strong ethics and values and a proven ability to maintain confidentiality
