Dos Mariposas Vineyards & Lavender is a family owned and operated farm located just outside of Jacksonville, OR. We are looking for associates to work in our tasting room on an on-call basis for weekends and events with the possibility of scheduled hours during the summer. Our unique tasting room and farm stand combines wine and lavender, plus some seasonal produce in one family-friendly space. Responsibilities

• Customer Experience: Provide a pleasant environment for guests by building relationships and communicating with guests in a manner consistent with expectations; handle guest complaints and defuse difficult situations as needed.
• Event Set-up and Tear-down: Assist in setting up for events. This includes moving multiple tables, chairs, couches, and other furniture, cleaning the grounds, patios, and tasting room both before and after events, re-setting indoor and outdoor furniture after events, and other event-related set up responsibilities. This work often has to be done very quickly.
• Wine and Food Service: Assist visitors in selecting wines for tasting and for purchase, prepare and serve wine and food items, provide information about our wines and winery, effectively suggest and sell wine and Wine Club memberships.
• Daily Operations: Welcome guests, respond to guest inquiries, answer phone, monitor guest consumption, maintain quality service, and perform all other relevant tasks with integrity and professionalism. Perform all opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, based upon assigned shift times.
• Tasting Room Set-up/Tear-down: Assist with set-up of portable stage, buffet tables, and extra tables and chairs, plus moving existing tables and chairs for large reservations, live music, and other events. Return tasting room to standard set-up after events.
• Cleaning & Stocking: Ensure tasting room, patios, grounds, inventory areas, and bathrooms are clean, neat, and stocked at all times; perform all cleaning tasks assigned by tasting room manager.
• Events: Assist with coordinating and staffing events as needed; represent winery at outside events as needed.
• Closing: Perform all “End of Day” closing operations as assigned by tasting room manager.
• Miscellaneous: Ensure accurate point of sale transaction processing; assist with shipments as needed; assist with re-stocking storage room.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills & Abilities

• Current OLCC Server Permit and Food Handler Permit required.
• Friday, Saturday, Sunday availability is required.
• Ability to move and set-up furniture, which may include bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling is required.
• Must be able to work in environment that can at times be fast-paced with multiple competing demands.
• Minimum 6 months experience serving alcohol in a tasting room or similar environment desired.
• Basic wine knowledge and the desire to expand wine knowledge and appreciation is necessary for this position.
• Communication: Must be able to effectively communicate with guests, other staff, owners, and vendors/contractors verbally and in writing when needed. This includes the ability to actively listen, respond in a manner appropriate to the situation and audience, and to proactively communicate.
• Service Orientation: Creating an inviting environment for all guests is one of our most important objectives, therefore candidates for this position must be kind and actively seek ways to help guests and staff have a positive experience.
• Independent Work: Must have the ability to work independently and follow established tasting room guidelines for opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures.
• Organizational skills: Must have strong organizational skills, including exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
• Software and POS Knowledge (Square or comparable): Candidates should have knowledge of at least one point of sale system, including processing sales.
• Physical: Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs consistently and must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Position requires the ability to keep your arm and hand steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.

NOTE: This is an_ on-call _position with the potential to become a position with scheduled part-time shifts in the summer. Needs are primarily for Friday-Sunday, mostly late afternoon-evening.

Pay range is $14-$16/hour plus tips.
