Job summary:

The Programmer Analyst reports to the Business Applications Manager and is a blend of traditional Programming, Project Manager, and Business Intelligence (Analytics) disciplines. The incumbent will use their expertise to consult and collaborate with business stakeholders, IT team, and other third parties to develop, deliver, and optimize Mariani business and system capabilities. The incumbent is also responsible for hardware and software administration tasks on the IBM iSeries and other supported business platforms, including database administration, system optimization and end user support.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Extensive experience in partnering with user community capturing requirements, translating and developing solution, delivering and training user in implementation and adoption.
  • Solid knowledge of RPG/RPGLE/RPGSQL/RPG FREE, CLP/CLLE, DDS, SQL
  • Experience in iSeries and other platform System Administration and optimization including database administration.
  • Ability to work under time constraints while meeting critical milestones.
  • Ability to multitask with multiple deadlines or milestone requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio and Access).
  • Excellent interpersonal, team, customer service and written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • Possess a positive attitude.
  • Experience working within the Food / Beverage / CPG / manufacturing industry strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of Java, ProData DBU, RDB Connect, and SpoolMail is a plus.
  • S2K Enterprise experience is a plus.


Accountability # 1 – Program Life Cycle 30%

  • Analyze, design, code, test, debug, and document programs to meet business needs.
  • Develop from program specifications, data workflow, and database relation diagrams.
  • Maintain consistent and clear documentation of added or modified code.
  • Test new programs to ensure the logic and syntax are correct and the results are accurate.
  • Understand and implement modular programming.
  • Create user training documentation.
  • Provide user training and support for ERP and supporting applications.
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of S2K and CPS security.
  • Assist with back-up and recovery functions.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other team members and/or outside consultants on projects.
  • Be able to perform administration tasks on the IBM i, which includes, but is not limited to: setting up new users; saving and restoring libraries, files, and objects; knowing how to solve production problems.
  • Maintain interface with Commodities Procurement System (CPS).
  • Support other IT department functions or projects as directed.


Accountability # 2 – Project Management 30%

  • Partners with S2K ERP stakeholders and IT team members to plan and execute key projects and business priorities.
  • Functions as liaison between Mariani operations, warehouse operations, IT, and external parties by helping all stakeholders to see the business operations and technology aspects of S2K ERP systems.
  • Leads and guides cross-functional team members in definition and documentation of processes, functional specifications, test plans/ scripts, deployment planning, and legacy application changes.
  • Leads and coordinates with business users, integration, and user acceptance testing efforts for assigned projects.
  • Ensures application compliance to Mariani development, security, and documentation standards.
  • Assists with resources planning throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Accountable for timely project updates on progress.


Accountability # 3 – Business Intelligence / Analytics 30%

  • Develop meta data packages using IBM Cognos Framework Manager and
  • Uses current knowledge of data structures, and analytic tools to recommend reporting and analytic solutions to data champions and the user community.
  • Performs regular follow-up with business including refinement of reports and analytical solutions
  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile, and identify gaps, uncover unmet business needs, and create a finished solution.

  • Partners with Business Applications Manager in identification of technical, professional, and leadership development opportunities.
  • Demonstrates Mariani Company Values and Aspirations in daily work life, internal and external interactions.
  • Serves as a Mariani Ambassador in understanding and promoting company products within spheres of influence.
