Overview:
Pro-Sphere Tek, Inc. (ProSphere) is seeking System Administrator "Day to day operational maintenance of: Win, Linux, SQL, Oracle Web Logic Servers including migrations of applications as needed, remediation of vulnerabilities for Nessus scans and assistance for issues arising from server patching. ATO: Vulnerability scanning with Nessus and other scans; ability to write POAMS “This is a full-time position. Remote at this time. Prior Department of Veterans Affairs, (VA), or prior Government experience desirable. Veterans are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs in the role of System Administrator managing multiple servers in terms of daily/monthly maintenance, support, access, patching, and related needs.
  • Performs in the role of Hardware Configuration Manager in supporting the servers in terms of inventorying, documenting, and maintaining physical and configuration control over all servers within the product line’s inventory, including all environments these servers reside in and are utilized within (i.e., Dev, Test, Staging, Pre-Prod, Prod, etc.).
  • Coordinates closely with the applicable VA client-side server admins and data center POCs to further ensure the maintenance, support, documentation, patching, and related compliance requirements are met and kept up to date at all times for these assets.
  • Produces and updates server topology and related technical diagrams and schematics which fully describe and document the FPL server environment.
  • Performs in the role of User Administrator to provide necessary security, profile, and Team member access to applicable servers/environments as may be required to facilitate the delivery of services under the CCSS contract for VA clients and end users/customers.
  • Maintains User Admin control over all server assets, to include detailed documentation of access control lists, history/usage/access logs, and related information necessary to ensure a complete access control audit trail and on-demand and/or automated reporting of this information as may be requested/required.
  • Provides necessary information, support, and input to ATO efforts for products and applications residing on these servers/environments.
  • Produces requested documentation for the ATO effort as applicable. Writes and publishes applicable POAMs to address monthly NESSUS and related VA network security scans and performs patching of the FPL servers to address monthly scan findings for all Critical and High-level findings and write POAMS or performs patching to address all Medium/non-critical findings as needed and as applicable.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science (8 years of combined experience may be substituted for education).
  • Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
