Age Group Swim Coach

The Capitol Sea Devils are looking for several age group coaches upcoming 2022-2023 season. Our season runs from mid-September and continues up to Memorial Day each year.

We are interested in motivated coaches who enjoy working with swimmers between the ages of 6 and 18. Coaching experience should include

· ASCA Level 1 certification or higher and/or comparable summer league coaching experience

· Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and internet

· Hy-Tek TM/MM experience preferred

· An interest in continuing swim coach education

Our team stresses the following three concepts:

· Teaching swim stroke technique as an essential aspect of each practice

· Promoting positive values, respect, and sportsmanship within the pool and community

· Supporting a philosophy of a gradual increase in practice time and commitment for athlete development

Current Positions Available:

· Age Group Coach: At South Run Recreation Center: 7550 Reservation Drive, Springfield, VA – AM and PM options

· Age Group Coach: At Holton Arms School: 7303 River Road, Bethesda, MD, weekday evenings

· Age Group Coach: At St. Albans School, Washington, DC, weekday evenings
Washington DC

· Age Group Coach: At the Bender JCC in Rockville, MD – weekday evenings

Pay Rate: Experienced Coaches start at $24/hour

Coaching Duties Include, but are not limited to:

· Planning and executing daily/weekly/seasonal training plans that are age and skill level appropriate emphasizing proper technique

· Regular communication with swimmers, parents, coaches and administration

· Attendance at meets approximately 1-2 times per month on weekends

· Attendance at coach meetings as directed by location and team

• 1 year
