Job description
We currently have the opportunity for a Surveyor to join our team.
Key Functions
- Measure distances and angles between points on, above and below the surface
- Travel to locations and select known reference points to determine the exact location of important features
- Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using instruments
- Properly maintain surveying instruments to ensure accuracy
- Knowledge of GPS software and equipment used to facilitate surveying of heavy civil construction projects
- Compute measurements and interpret survey data in order to determine positions, shapes, and elevations
- Analyze survey objectives and specifications in order to prepare survey proposals or to direct others in survey proposal preparation
- Establish stake sites and official land and water boundaries
- Look for evidence of previous boundaries to determine where boundary lines are located
- Record the results of surveying and verify the accuracy of data
- Prepare plots, maps and reports
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of construction experience
- Experience with GPS
- Valid Driver’s License
