Responsibilities:
Supervises the Quality Team’s personnel for working and load balancing multiple quality reports as well as assisting the Coordinator in providing leadership coverage for various shifts, including the shifts Tuesday through Saturday. Assists the team and the coordinator by working reports as needed on a regular basis. Responsible for ensuring standards for quality and productivity are met for the quality reports/accounts. Serves as a backup to the coordinator to work closely with the Change Healthcare to build new business rules, issue resolution, product enhancement, and change control for aHIQA Lobby as Northside Hospital continues to rollout aHIQA to the physician practices.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Responsible for supervision and load balancing of quality reports.


2. Assist in the implementation of department quality goals and reports including standards, policy and procedures supporting the hospital and physician needs to ensure their compliance.


3. Maintains communications with patient access supervisors, integration specialists, and physician practice coordinators regarding findings and best practices.


4. Oversees and performs quality review audits of personnel to identify problems and provide re‑training.


5. Reviews staffing requirements and cover employee absences by working quality reports.


6. Responsible for hiring, evaluating, counseling, and administering disciplinary action up to, and including, termination.


7. Verifies hours worked by team personnel and reviews/updates employee time cards.


8. Coordinates activities with the Business Office Supervisors and the Profee Billing Dept to assist in problem solving, and with approval from Coordinator/Manager, implementing quality measures to ensure that front‑end procedures in registration do not negatively impact backend procedures.


9. Maintains a working knowledge of insurance verification, pre-registration and billing policies and procedures. Reviews insurance regulation updates, and provides insurance training and support to members of the quality team.


10. Monitors and controls the load balancing of working the reports.


11. Compiles and reviews monthly with the Quality team, their scorecards.


12. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury‑accident to Manager.


PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP

The Quality Supervisor will attend a number of leadership and professional development courses offered by Northside Hospital as a part of the onboarding training regimen and as an ongoing expectation. One performing in this position is expected to hold himself/herself to a high level of personal accountability for job performance.

Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

BS., B.A., or Associate's degree in Business, PLUS two (2) years registration experience or equivalent receivables/management experience
OR
High school diploma or equivalent, PLUS five (5) years registration experience
OR
two (2) years supervisory experience
  • Ability to train and direct employees
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of billing, insurance verification, and collection procedures, and a general knowledge of computers and computer systems.
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

1.Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field
2.Prior supervisory experience
