Job description

Provide technical support for University Facilities Management's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Works closely with department system users and team members to understand business requirements and develop / deliver training programs that support project initiatives and on-going systems development and enhancements. Reports to designated supervisor.

Examples of Duties:


Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

Assess the needs of functional areas within University Facilities and Management and develop and promote training programs for the CMMS platform (e.g., create lesson plans and materials, train staff, etc.).

Develop and maintain departmental access management permissions, tracking system, policies, and procedures.

Test troubleshoot, and roll out new updates to the software.

May oversee budgetary activities (curate/review department spending and charges to external departments).

Provide assistance with creating and maintaining business practices and procedures related to facilities management.

Create and update reports utilizing reporting writing tools (i.e., BIRT, Cognos).

Assist in the management of portable smart devices; maintain inventory; maintain devices; provide training.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, management information systems, or related degree. Or a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to an Associate degree in IS/CS plus two years of experience including: managing information technology projects with evidence of increasing responsibility and moderately complex projects to include experience with customer service; knowledge of complex enterprise systems, systems development life cycle, and database concepts.

License/Certification:


Knowledge Of:

Process analysis and project management
Basic tools and techniques to implement and maintain the data in a CMMS system
Basic business processes related to utilizing a CMMS system
Basic techniques for developing training programs and documentation including analysis of user functional needs

Skill In:

Written and interpersonal communication, including providing direct customer contact and delivering and preparing presentations
Organization and planning
Personal computer applications (i.e., MS Office Suite)
Training users in processes and documentation of related procedures
Supervision of students
Resolving problems independently and making decisions in a timely manner
Providing outstanding customer service
Report writing

Ability To:

Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with users and staff
Be self-motivated and work independently as part of a team
Manage time and resources and effectively balance multiple priorities
Conduct effective training and presentations
Maintain high level of quality control
Work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends and holidays)


Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:


Experience working with vendors to obtain support, resolve issues, request enhancements, and manage system upgrades.


Familiarity/expertise with a CMMS software or similar business system software.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:


Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.


Working Schedule:


Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; however, hours may vary to meet departmental needs.
