Job description

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. The employee is frequently required to bend, stoop, climb, reach with hands and arms, handle or feel, see with normal visual acuity, talk, speak and hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift materials up to 50 lbs. The employee is regularly required to monitor a video display terminal.
Mental Demands: Reading, watching, studying, observing, focused listening. Concentrated attention to detail for prolonged periods of time. Auditing, inspecting, tabulating data, proofreading, analyzing and evaluating.
Additional Information: The performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day or night, any day and night of the week. The position is a bargaining unit position. The position is also safety sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Weights for a final score are as follows for external candidates: Written 30%, Performance 70%. Weights for a final score are follows for internal candidates: Written 30%, Performance Assessment 55%, Record Evaluation 15%. The Record Evaluation score will not be considered if the candidate does not reach the minimum score for each assessment (Written, Performance Assessment, or Interview) of the selection process.
For internal candidates: All assessment components of the selection process must reach a minimum score before the Record Evaluation score is considered. All candidates must score a minimum composite score of 70% in order to establish eligibility for the portion. Internal candidates must meet all record evaluation criteria in order to gain the 15% weighting. Records evaluation information includes a review of the following:
5 or more absence occurrences- 2 or more AWOL or absence control suspensions
- 3 or more active written reminders (regardless of the level)
- 5 or more misses (regardless of whether they are active or not active)
- 4 or more active tardies
- Drug or alcohol suspension
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) suspension
- Active Decision Making Leave (DML)
APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT PASS THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT(S) MUST WAIT SIX (6) MONTHS TO REAPPLY AFTER THE INITIAL WRITTEN EXAMINATION DATE.
