Job Summary


This posting will fill two Student Worker Clerical positions.

This position is part-time and will work up to 30 hours per week. The specific hours and days of work are flexible including days, nights, and weekends depending on event needs. This position is anticipated to last through the end of August or September.

This Student Worker position will provide event and clerical support to the Marketing Department at the Minnesota State Lottery Roseville Office Head Quarters.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Planning and preparing for events and contests
  • Driving the Marketing Vehicle
  • Working at events
  • Performing administrative duties
  • Work at assigned special events or promotions and may require some travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment in a post-secondary or graduate study program*. Please ensure that your application/resume clearly indicates the college where you are currently enrolled as well as your anticipated graduation date.

Ability to use customer service skills on the phone, in person, and online to provide effective general office support with common courtesy, interest in positive problem solving, and the ability to organize ideas logically.

Ability to use standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases sufficient to create, modify, and protect file information and documents.

Skills in using business English grammar, spelling, and punctuation to write, edit, and file documents.

Keyboarding/typing skills sufficient to prepare documents using word processing software such as Microsoft Word.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENT WORKERS: To be eligible for employment as a Student Worker, you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months. You may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as a Student Worker, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. If you are enrolled at a credit-granting institution, you must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, you must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in an office/clerical setting.

Physical Requirements

Incumbent must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in extreme weather conditions

The Minnesota State Lottery will conduct a criminal background check and fingerprint check at the time of job offer for all prospective new employees.

The Minnesota State Lottery cannot hire any person who's been convicted of a felony or a crime involving fraud or misrepresentation within five years of employment or who's ever been convicted of a gambling-related offense.

In addition, the Minnesota State Lottery will perform the following background checks:
